Cecilio was born in Merida, Yucatan,
Mexico in 1983. He started to play guitar at a
very early age with his brother Pedro Perera,
and after a couple of years he studied with Ricardo
Vega at the music school in his town and began
to give concerts.
Since 1999 until 2005 he studied at Xalapa University
of Music with Alfredo Sánchez and Consuelo
Cecilio has performed with orchestras
such as Salzburg Philharmonie, Salzburg Bläserphilharmonie, Qingdao
Shymphony Orchestra, St. Petersburg State
Hermitage Orchestra, Cuba National Orchestra, Italian
Orchestra Academia Musical Naonis, Almería
Symphony Orchestra, UNAM Philarmonic Orchestra,
Yucatan Symphony Orchestra, Xalapa Chamber Music
Orchestra, Guanajuato Symphony Orchestra, UANL
Symphony Orchestra, Acapulco Philarmonic
Orchestra, Chihuahua Philarmonic Orchestra, Merida

He has performed in important concert
halls such as Festspielhaus (Salzburg), Hermitage Theater
Museum (St. Petersburg), Carnegie Hall (New York), Glenn
Gould Studio (Toronto), Sala Nezahualcoyotl (Mexico
Cecilio has performed in Austria,
Germany, Italy, France, Finland, Estonia,
Russia, Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, Slovenia,
Spain, Mexico, United States, Canada, Cuba, Belize,
Costa Rica, China, also playing for different
TV programs and radio as well in prestigious festivals
and theaters in Europe and America. He has collaborate
with well-known composers who have dedicated guitar
works for him, such as Julio César Oliva, Clarice
Assad, Cutberto Córdova, Ernesto Hernández
Lunagómez, among others.
Cecilio holds a master degree from
the Mozarteum University Salzburg where he studied with
his mentor the famous guitarist Eliot Fisk, also
studied with Ricardo Gallén, the lute with
Hans Brüderl, ancient music with Howard Penny and
modern music with Simone Fontanelli.
He has performed with major artist such as singer
Grace Bumbry, violinist Benjamin Schmidt, among
others. Cecilio has already recorded with the well-known
CD label Naxos where he plays Latin-American composers
and his new CD is coming out with same label dedicated
to Mexican composers.
His repertoire ranges from renaissance
on the lute to contemporary music and chamber music
with flute, voice, string quartet, and other combinations
and he is currently assistant professor to
his mentor Eliot Fisk at the Mozarteum University
in Salzburg, Austria.-First Prize at the Volos International
